Dakota Territory Chapter of SCTE presented the MTI Robotics Team a check for $500
On Thursday, November 19th, members of the Dakota Territory Chapter of SCTE presented the MTI Robotics Team a check for $500. Funds will go toward helping the team with travel expenses and the purchase of additional robotics kits. 14 high school students work after school for several hours twice a week building, testing and perfecting their robots to compete against others in the region. Competition tasks vary each year. This year the objective is to have the robots shoot or place as many balls as possible into the goal areas during a 3 minute competition. The robots must operate autonomously for the first 15 seconds of the match and then can be controlled by the students for the remaining 2 minutes and 45 seconds.
